Volunteers are an important part of Summer Tuesdays. We value your time in helping to make these events a welcoming, fun and safe opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate summer! There are several volunteer opportunities available:
Hawkers (popcorn & drink sales)
4:30-6:30, 6:30-8:30 and 8:30-10:00
Ringleaders (welcoming guests and answering questions)
4:30 – 6:30 and 6:30-8:30
Carnie (assist with market set-up)
3:30 – 5:00
Roadie (assist with stage and band set-up)
5:00 – 9:30
Recycling (helping guests with recycling, monitoring the receptacles)
4:30 - 6:30 and 6:30 - 8:30
Please take the time to read the following guidelines. We hope the information provides you with the details you need to be a part of our team and to be an effective Summer Tuesdays volunteer.
Guidelines and expectations:
- Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to work at Summer Tuesdays. A parent or guardian must sign the Application Form for volunteers under 18 years of age.
- Adult volunteers may bring children 10-12 years of age to assist (maximum of 2 children with each adult).
- Volunteers request preferred dates, work areas and shifts. The volunteer coordinators will attempt to meet the volunteers' requests as closely as possible.
- The volunteer coordinator will schedule the shifts and confirm by mail or email the schedule with the volunteer.
- Volunteers will be contacted by phone or email the week before the event to confirm.
- Please sign-up to receive updates, including cancellations due to weather.
- If, after you are scheduled for a shift, you have a conflict or questions, please contact the Summer Tuesdays Coordinator at the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce, 651.439.4001
- Volunteers should report to the Chamber of Commerce booth on the day of their shift, 10 minutes prior to the shift. Volunteers will be given a name tag and shown their work area and procedure.
- Wear comfortable shoes and attire appropriate to the weather.
- During your shift, only volunteers scheduled for that shift are allowed behind the table at the booth.
- Refer issues needing special attention to Summer Tuesdays Coordinators; please do not try to intervene in any conflicts.
- If you have questions or concerns about your duties during your shift, please talk to one of the Summer Tuesdays Coordinators.
- Enjoy yourself!
- On the day of your shift, volunteers receive drinks from the Chamber tent and coupons for popcorn & a brat or hot dog in thanks for their efforts.
