| Opening Act for July 8th at 5:30 pm will be Brian Miller and Lumberjack Songs of Early Minnesota |
|
Brian Miller tells us that many Irish immigrants found work in American lumber camps in the late 1800s where they sang songs both remembered from the old country and also composed about their hard lives working in the north woods. Miller has been unearthing a unique selection of these ballads that were collected in Minnesota in the early 20th century from aging lumbermen who had worked in the old camps where trees were cut by hand, logs were driven down rivers and bunkhouses were alive with song. |
Valley Dance and Fitness founded by Tim and Tibbe Luell who began their studio in 2004 with the idea that they could foster a pre-collegiate, performance based studio with a comfortable hometown atmosphere. We encourage our youngest dancers to experiment with movement and still be a kid! We develop the strength of our tweens and teens to better their dancing or give them an edge in sports. We help our adults understand their bodies and make movement comfortable. The staff are here because they have a passion for the arts. They enjoy teaching children and adults the value of fitness for a lifetime in a safe and healthy environment. We all encourage strengthening oneself, helping others, and giving back to the community. For more information about Valley Dance & Fitness go to: www.valleydanceandfitness.com
